History and Politics of Mexico
This course is one that made a huge impression on my outlook of different cultures. Being raised in America, I never realized that history I learn here is one sided. Taking learning about the history of Mexico gave me a whole new outlook on the two countries allowing me to connections and observations I could not before. One of the topics we talked about in this course was the Mexican-American War. Learning about this from the Mexico perspective and learning that there it is also referred to as the American invasion really opened up my eyes to how history is written based on perspectives. This course also allowed me to make connections to a third culture along with my own and Japanese.
